Mini Vacation From Mommyhood

For awhile now I have been asking for some time at home (by myself) to get a lot of things done that I have been slacking on. I was thinking 24-48 hours of uninterrupted time would get me back on track and organized again, not to mention give me some time to do the things I hardly ever make time for (ex. scrapbooking, watching movies, shopping, & surfing the internet). Well, Brian made my wish a reality and not only did I have 24 hours but I had 80 hours to myself, in my home, in the midst of all the things I wanted to accomplish. What a great (& brave) guy to give that time to me and spend some quality time with his daughters.
He and the girls headed out on Wednesday afternoon to visit family and returned late last night. So, what did I do with all that time you may ask. Well, here are my accomplishments:
  • Deep cleaned my entire house from top to bottom
  • Worked an 8 hour shift at Whole Health where I am a nurse practitioner
  • Hit one hair product sale
  • Scrapped for a total of 16 hours (4 of those were in the company of one of my neighbors)
  • Watched 4 movies
  • Stocked our pantry and refrigerator for the next two weeks
  • Made 7 meals that are now in the freezer for future use
  • Attended 4 aerobic classes at the YMCA
  • Washed one van
  • Did 6 loads of laundry
  • Cleared 2 little girls' closets of summer clothes and packed them with fall/winter clothes
  • Completed 5 Klassy Kloths (decorated burp cloths I make for my business Sassy Klassy 'N More)
  • Cut the fabric for 10 inventory bags for Sassy Klassy 'N More
  • Mowed one lawn

I think that is everything that consumed my time while they were away. It feels so nice to have all of that accomplished but I will tell you that by night 2 I was ready for all three of them to be home with me. It is so quiet in this house without the sweet voices of Aubrey and Abby and without the companionship of Brian.

WOW! You did get a lot done. Did you sleep???? You are awesome and I'm sure ready to go on!! I'm so glad you had a great break. Not sure if I could be that productive with my time.

I seriously can't believe all the stuff that you got done...may be we should all reccommend that to our husbands! I've got a two bathrooms that I've been wanting to paint for a year, but can't seem to find the time when Gabi wouldn't add her own fingerprints to the design. Good to hear that all is going well!

Ok, so you and I have opposing views of "vacation" (more scrapbooking and less cleaning for me! lol) but I must say that is IMPRESSIVE!

Kudos to Brian for taking the girls, and WOW Kim! I can't believe everything that you accomplished while they were gone. I hope you also got to sleep in at least for one morning. =)
