Mini Vacation: Their Point Of View

Wednesday afternoon Brian headed out with a car packed with
two little girls, suitcases and various things to entertain Aubrey & Abigail as they headed out for their mini vacation. As they left Aubrey was tearful and very concerned for me. She couldn't understand why I would be interested in staying home by MYSELF! They spent the week visiting many of our family members.

The first stop was Cheney where they enjoyed some afternoon playtime with Livia, Lance and Stanton. The girls were able to check out Franklin (Stanton's turtle--earlier post) again, enjoy the swingset and eat the BEST pizza as Aubrey told me. Later that evening they headed to Brian's Mom's house for the next couple of days.

The next morning an agenda was set as you can see in the picture. They also had many things they wanted to accomplish and I believe they checked everything off their list.

Aubrey loves riding bikes but still relies on training wheels. Grandma had this one at her house but the training wheels were gone so Aubrey gave it a try anyway. She still needs a lot of practice so we may post-pone the removal of her training wheels to next summer.
Aubrey set out to earn a little money on this trip so she set up a lemonade stand which was quite successful. Brian said he was so proud of her. She thanked all of her customers for coming, wished them a good day after their purchase, and sold all of her profits. The line waiting for a refreshing cup of lemonade consisted of 3 customers--Daddy, Grandma Sharon and Papa Steve.
Aubrey has really started to enjoy helping Grandma Sharon with her sewing and thought that she needed a Dora blanket to match her Klassy Kloth and purse from Sassy Klassy 'N More. They made an adorable blanket that has been keeping Aubrey's baby very warm.
Aubrey was so excited to fly kites. Grandma Sharon's house proves to always have the best wind so the time was right. Aubrey took her Barbie kite with her and was able to fly it for the first time and Grandma & Papa had some additional kites to join Barbie in the air.
On Friday afternoon they headed into Wichita to spend some time with Michelle, Chad, Emily & Chase. They enjoyed a dip in their neighborhood pool that afternoon before a nice steak dinner that I heard was delicious. On Saturday morning they were able to catch Chase's first soccer game before heading to Newton for time with Papa John.
Saturday was USC's first football game so Papa John's house was the place to be for a Saturday afternoon viewing along with some playtime with all of their fabulous toys. The Ingram's joined them for a yummy lasagna meal that Grandma Jan made before taking a fun trip herself. The weather was perfect for an enjoyable walk before putting the girl's to bed that evening.
Abigail gets a snuggle from Papa John while Aubrey & Emily enjoy playing with the dollhouse.
On Sunday morning they attended church with Papa John before spending the rest of the day relaxing and playing with Papa John and his toys. That evening they got ready for bed, jumped in the car and headed home. Aubrey called me shortly after they left Papa John's to tell me they were on their way. I told her that I was so excited to see her and couldn't wait for her to get home. As we talked a bit more I noticed that she sounded quite sad so I asked her if she was alright and she said "I don't want to leave". She said she was ready to see me but that she had so much fun during their mini vacation!
