Growing Up

This morning Abigail experienced another FIRST--she went to Kids Day Out for the first time. She will be going to the same school as Aubrey once a week to play with some kids her age and gain some independence from Mommy. Wait a minute--gain independence--I think she already has that accomplished just like every other 18 month old. Ok, maybe just to play with some kids her age but I am sure she will gain some skills along with the play!
She seemed excited to go and knew exactly where her classroom was.
About a week ago we had gone to a "sneak peek" to let her get used to her "school" and at the end of the hour I drug her out while she kicked and screamed because she DID NOT want to leave! Well, this morning she gave me the look like "Where do you think you are going!" and I immediately started second guessing myself and feeling very guilty. My first thought was she shouldn't be anywhere but with me right now and that lasted for the next few hours until I went to pick both girls up from school. Full fledged guilt had sunk in! However, when I saw how much fun she was having and heard that she had a great day I felt much better. When we got in the car I asked her if she had a good day and she said "Yeah!" (she says that so cute!) and gave me her big smile with a wrinkled nose.
