Where did the time go?

Where has this year gone?  It seems like just yesterday Aubrey & I were talking about the beginning of Kindergarten.  To be honest, I think we were both rather clueless of what to expect.  I remember sitting in her classroom as Mrs. Fyffe (her teacher) listed out all of the things that the Kindergarteners would learn...reading, addition, fractions, time telling, social studies.  The first thoughts in my head...Yeah, right...Really?...Surely not all of those things.  We both realized that some changes would take place but WOW...this little girl of ours has blossomed!  Aubrey is attending an amazing school & was blessed to get off on the right foot with an amazing teacher.  She will be one person that neither of us will forget.  As a thank you gift to her Aubrey decorated this flower pot and planted a bright pink Gerber daisy inside.  As an added touch, I inserted a plant stake with "Thank you for helping my child bloom".  Just the other day, Aubrey received a sweet note from Mrs. Fyffe letting her know that the flower is growing & producing more blooms just like she did throughout the year.  How sweet is that?!
Aubrey requested a special breakfast to start her last day of school off with...doughnuts WITH sprinkles (a must!).  She gobbled them up before heading out to the bus stop as a Kindergartener for the last time.  The day must have worn her out as I found her fast asleep during her rest time...that doesn't happen very often.
Aubrey is now an official FIRST GRADER!  She told me that she is sad to leave Mrs. Fyffe's classroom but has assured me that she will still see her in the halls.  The thing she is most excited about when it comes to first grade...not having to come home & do rest time after lunch!  What a girl!
