Creativity Central

Look at this crazy crew!  They look like they could be up to something, right?  Well, they were!  Aubrey, Abby & Grammie Ann are very crafty people & very good secret keepers.  When Mom came to help out while I recovered she brought a craft book with her.  In that book were instructions on how to make a pinata.  My girls are all about pinatas & definitely about making one with Grammie!  While I took marathon long naps in the afternoon (often with Abby by my side), Aubrey & Grammie were quietly creating in the basement.  I had a feeling they were up to something but Aubrey did a pretty good job of keeping their task under wraps.  Finally, their creation was done & it was time to have a party!  What were we celebrating?  They were celebrating my uneventful surgery & progressive recovery!  How sweet is that?!
Look at this beautiful creation!  Much too pretty to take a bat too!  But, they insisted...so, one evening after supper Aubrey invited her neighbor friend over to enjoy the festivities.  It was then time for all of us to hide our eyes, pick up a bat & take a swing!
Batter #1...no luck.
Batter #2...no luck.
Batter #3...still no luck.
Batter #4...STILL no luck.  They made this sucker extra strong.
Batter #5...HOME RUN after about 10 extremely hard hits.
The outfield hit the jackpot as candy & suckers flew through the air.
What a fun evening we had!  We found candy in different parts of the garage weeks later which continued to bring smiles to our faces as we remembered this fun memory.  We need to find another thing to celebrate as both girls are more than ready to make another pinata!
