Aubrey really enjoys music...singing it, listening to it & moving to it! So, when she came home with an invitation for all of us to come to her program 'The Reading Rainbow' on the evening of May 11th she could hardly contain her excitement. I was pretty excited too!! I just love watching her mature, grow & learn as well as show us all of that!
She would come home periodically singing a new song, doing a new dance or talking about the very colorful shirts that they made...soon we figured out that these beautiful Rainbow shirts were the product of their creativity.
The entire program was about various books that they had read throughout the year. There were songs to go with each one. Aubrey favorite was "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom!". It is absolutely adorable so if you have a chance I would recommend reading it. There is also a fun CD that has the song on it...we checked both of these out from the library. Aubrey had a speaking part..."And, we love the alphabet". She also stepped in to help by holding up a sign for a friend that was unable to make it to the program.
At the end of the program, each Kindergartener stepped off of the stage into the arms of Mrs. Fyffe who gave them each big hugs. This is where the tears whelled up in my eyes. Where has this year gone? I can't believe that Aubrey's year of Kindergarten is over!! She had such a good year & we all loved Mrs. Fyffe!
