Home Makeover: Patio Edition

This past February Brian & I were discussing life over a glass of wine & dinner.  Well, that led to many different topics one of which was a question to each of us..."If there was any part of our house that you wish you could change what would it be?".  We both answered the same!  We love our house but we have both mentioned how it would be nice to have a bigger patio to entertain on & a different basement layout so that it was more livable.  So, when we returned home we decided to put some money that we have saved into our backyard!! 

This is the patio that was originally poured when the house was built a little over 3 years ago.

This is the outline of the design that we chose for our patio.

And, this is the crew of very talented men that created our new patio

while Mom & Abby sat to watch.  In literally 4 hours they had the patio poured & stamped.  Amazing!!!  It was a very fun process to watch.

Here are the beginnings of the wall that will eventually hold the support beams for a pergola that Brian will build to block some of the afternoon & evening sun beams that shine bright. 

They did a beautiful job on the fire pit that we are excited to roast marshmallows & hot dogs over.

The finished product has a wall connecting the fire pit with the house.

And...the beautiful finished product!  We absolutely LOVE it.  Everyone is invited for an evening of fun complete with smores, hot dogs, a warming fire & comfortable seating.  Now on to the pergola!  (Hint, hint Brian)
