Aubrey and I had a very special time this morning at a Mother's Tea put on by her preschool class. The room was decorated so nicely with tablecloths on the tables and places set with plates and napkins. The tea began with songs about Mommies sang by the preschoolers. The teachers then read stories that each child had written about their mommy and the children presented us with a plant they had potted with the help of their teachers. Aubrey was then able to sit with me while we enjoyed "biscuit doughnuts" they had made during the first hour of preschool. They were very yummy! In fact she and I both opted to not eat lunch because we were so full.I enjoyed the story Aubrey wrote about me so much that I thought I would share it. She put a lot of thought into it. The italic words are her insertions into a form story.
My Special Mom
My Mom is the most wonderful mom in the world. She is as pretty as Barbie. She weighs 15 pounds and she is 20 feet tall. Her favorite food is pizza. In the old days when my mom was little she used to swing and go down the slide. I think my mom looks funny when she kisses me and licks my nose. My mother is very happy when I don't hit. I wish my mom could play Barbies with me every day.
Thank you God for letting her be my Mommy! Love, Aubrey

What a special time you two had together. Looks like so much fun. Thanks for sharing!
Lots of love to you both! - Michelle
What fun it looks like you had. I can't wait until Gabi can communicate to me like Aubrey. Actually, I am still waiting to hear her say "mommy" to me.
Glad you had a wonderful time!
