Friday, August 14th, was a huge day for our family. Aubrey became a Kindergartener. Aubrey has been awaiting this day anxiously & awoke with a smile on her face as she prepared for her first day.

Brian & I were invited to stay with Aubrey for the first 20 minutes of school. We drove her to school, walked with her up to the school & down the hallway to meet Mrs. Fyffe. Aubrey was all smiles as we entered the classroom, chose the type of milk she would like & found her seat.

During the first 20 minutes we helped Aubrey decorate her name picture & watched her become familiar with her new surroundings. That was when it hit me...our Aubrey is growing up! When our time was up she quickly gave us hugs & kisses & told us goodbye. I will admit that a few tears welled up in my eyes as I left the school. A few other Kindergarten mommy's & myself headed out for breakfast & coffee after we left our kiddos.

And, then Aubrey was home on the big yellow bus...with her little sister anxiously awaiting her arrival. It was fun to hear about her day (as much as she would tell me) full of fun. Her favorite part was riding the school bus. During her time at school she participated in music, learned some Spanish & listened to "The Kissing Hand". She is already excited for Monday & we are ready for a great school year!
