Aubrey got a BINGO!!!

This summer Aubrey played a game of BINGO & she successfully got a blackout. Let me tell you about her bingo game...I stole the idea from my sister-in-law who was doing this with her kids because I thought it was so fabulous. Not did this give Aubrey a summer challenge but it also kept me on track to teach her new things & ideas. Each square listed something she had to do throughout the summer. Some of the more serious things she had to do were...read a beginning reader book, learn to tie her shoes, learn her address, do a workbook, plan a meal & help make it, donate a toy, a service project, & science projects. There were also many fun things...water balloon fight, make a tie dye T-shirt, swim across the pool, have a tea party, go fishing, & T-ball. There were also adventures...go to New Mexico to spend a week with Grammie & Poppa, fly on an airplane, & go to Yellowstone. Each time she would get a bingo she could choose a small prize out of the prize basket & when she got a blackout we would take her to a water/amusement park.
It was so fun to have her ask me what she could do each day to fill a spot on her bingo board. She did great & at the beginning of August we were able to celebrate her blackout by going to World's of Fun. Michelle's kids filled their bingo boards as well so we all went together.
The kids had such a good time trying out the different rides & running from point A to point B.
The Ferris Wheel was one of the first stops. Brian hopped in with the older girls while I rode with Chad & Chase. Abby is not a fan of Ferris Wheels so she stayed below with Aunt Michelle.
Most of the rides went FAST, backwards, forward, up & down but none of them seemed to bother the kids at all. Here they are on the Octopus.
Abby decided to try out one that was fairly mild (Fjord Fjarlane) & she LOVED it...in fact I think she rode it 4 times.
Camp Snoopy is the kiddie area & the rides there are geared towards smaller kids. Abby had a great time riding the airplanes & a mini roller coaster.
The big kids along with Emily & Chase rode the Monsoon. I can't believe that I actually got a shot of them plunging down into the water. (Brian has his hands up with Michelle, the kids & Chad behind him.)
We had a great time & Aubrey is anxious for her 2010 version of the Summer Bingo Board. Thanks for the great idea Michelle!
