We received an email today from Grammie Ann with a fun recipe we just had to try! We made chocolate cake in a coffee mug--can you believe it. Very simple and quick--the perfect after dinner treat. We picked out our mugs and set out our ingredients so we were ready to start measuring and mixing.
Aubrey measures out the cocoa while Abby gets ready to help with the milk.
Ok, we are ready to put our final mixture into the microwave.
After 3 minutes in the microwave our finished product came out smelling yummy!
Daddy couldn't wait to try it,
but Aubrey thought it needed a few special touches--icing and cool whip!Thank you Grammie for such a fun treat!
So, now that everyone is asking--How did they do that?--we will let you in on our new fun recipe.
You'll need...
4 Tablespoons cake flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons chocolate drops (optional)
Splash of vanilla
1 Mug
Here's what you do...
Add dry ingredients to the mug and mix well.
Crack an egg and add it to your mug. Be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour in the corners.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate drops if you've got them and vanilla.
Pop your mug into the microwave and zap for 3 minutes on maximum power.
Wait until the cake stops rising, and sets in the mug.
If necessary, run a knife around the sides of the mug, and tip the still warm cake out of the mug and onto a saucer.
Sit back and enjoy!
