On Sunday, the 29th of June we enjoyed a relaxing day without much of a schedule. We were headed to Carlsbad, CA for the remained of our trip so along the way we stopped at Balboa Island. The girls were able to experience riding the ferry and frozen chocolate covered bananas and other ice cream treats. Aunt Karen and Uncle Dennis joined us for a relaxing afternoon before we headed the rest of the way to Carlsbad.
The majority of the last part of our vacation was spent in Carlsbad on the beach. It was so relaxing and fun! We enjoyed the cool mornings and evenings, warm afternoon sun, sandy kids, cool ocean water, beautiful sunsets, excellent food, and family time. Abigail enjoyed many naps with Grandma Jan. At various times family from L.A. joined us for days on the beach. Brian, Michelle, Chad and I enjoyed a special treat from Dad Sommer and Jan--a night out without children!
