Uh-Oh!

You are probably wondering what in the world I am trying to show in the picture. It looks like some toddler writing--maybe some beautiful e's or very nice o's but Aubrey begs to differ. One morning she was very quiet in her room while I was checking my email. She has started to play very nicely by herself in her room, so I didn't think this was unusual.

After finishing with my email I went into her room to play with her and as I closed her closet door and turned of the light something on her wall caught my attention. That's right--the marking at the left were on her wall. I immediately reminded her that pens and pencils are only supposed to be used on paper or coloring books. She promptly said, "Mommy I was trying to hang a picture". I asked her what?! I didn't understand that at all! She then said, "Daddy writes on the wall when he is hanging things". That jogged my memory. A few weeks earlier Brian was hanging some hooks on the wall and had marked his spots on the wall with pencil. She was doing exactly as she had seen and why would she think it was wrong. If Daddy can do it, shouldn't she be able to? Of course I couldn't be upset with her since her response was so darn cute and she had the picture in hand that she was trying to hang. I ended our conversation with "Next time, come and get Mommy or Daddy to help you hang something"!
