We traveled to Wichita this past weekend to dance with some monsters, see almost all of our family, and eat some cake. On Saturday morning, Aubrey and I drove to "Big Bird's House" as she calls the Kansas Coliseum to watch the Sesame Street Live show with Brian's sister Michelle, her husband Chad, their children Emily & Chase, my sister Livia, and her son Stanton. Everyone had a great time as we watched Big Bird decide what he wanted to be when he grows up. Aubrey's attention was definitely captured as they danced and sang. She is already geared up for another show next year. This morning she said, "Mommy, remember...Big Bird told me to come back soon".
Saturday afternoon was spent preparing for Abigail's first birthday party. It is so hard to believe that she is almost one. The theme was ladybugs for our little lady. She must have known something fun was about to happen because she refused to take a nap that afternoon. But she did great and really enjoyed her party with all of those so dear around to participate. It was so special to have everyone together. There to witness her first party was Grammie Ann, Poppa Art, Grandma Sharon, Papa Steve, Papa John, Grandma Jan, Aunt Livia, Uncle Lance, Stanton, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Chad, Emily, and Chase. It was fun to watch her open her gifts (with the assistance of her big sister Aubrey), walk a few steps here and there, and dive into her cake.

Sesame Street Live looks like it was fun! I wanted to take the boys really bad but didn't. I'll have to make it happen next year. Happy Birthday to Abigail!! It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by already!!
I love Abigail's pictures with her ladybug cake. So cute! I remember Aubrey's 1 year old pics w/ her cake... Great to see you all this weekend!
Funny that you had ladybugs for her birthday theme because that is what we are doing (only in brown and pink). We met some people here have a daughter one day younger than Gabi, so we are planning to do their parties together. You'll have to share some of your ideas...if you don't mind. You always come up with some fabulously-cute invitations and stuff too! :)
Also...where do you get the cute bows that are always in Abigail's hair?
