Christmas Hit Our House A Little Early...

Merry Christmas! Ok, maybe it isn't quite Christmas but the four of us celebrated a little bit early. Why, you ask...we are headed out of town on Wednesday so this past Saturday seemed like a perfect day to wake up just like it was Christmas morning, have a leisurely day enjoying each other & to remember how a special baby was shared with us on Christmas morning years & years ago. This also gives the girls a chance to play with their new toys for a few days before we leave them behind for a week & a half. Now Santa hasn't come nor has he forgotten us...he will be visiting us at Great Grandma Dorothy's house in Nebraska.
The night before we celebrated the girls dressed in their Christmas PJs & before they fell asleep Brian asked Aubrey if she was more excited to open presents or to give presents. Her reply brought smiles to our faces as she quicly replied, "Give presents". She had done some shopping of her own & we were all very anxious to see what we were getting.

Aubrey received some new clothes for her American Girl (knock-off) doll, Sandy. It was so cute to see how excited she was. She kept thanking us over & over again. Sandy is now ready for dance class as well as a summer afternoon in the park.

Abby's big surprise was a battery-operated 4 wheeler that Mommy & Daddy couldn't get to work. As we were explaining to her that it was not working & that we were going to have to take it back an even bigger surprise occured. She looked me in the eye, pushed the red button, & SURPRISE...it worked! And, I am happy to report that 48 hours later it is still working.
