Aubrey has changed!!! About a month ago, I noticed something on her upper gum & thought that it was a popcorn kernel since she had just finished a bowl of the yummy stuff. But when I tried to wipe it off I realized that it wasn't going anywhere. So, I called my good friend who happens to also be a dental hygentist. She came & took a look and calmly said "She has an abscessed tooth. You are going to want to get that looked at". This happens to be above the same tooth that she chipped during a headfirst fall into the cement at the age of 3. We took her into the dentist who felt that maybe Aubrey could get the tooth out on her own since it was already loose. So we went home on antibiotics & spent the next 2 weeks wiggling & wiggling but no tooth fell out!
The Monday before Thanksgiving she & I took a trip back to the dentist who told Aubrey they were going to have to wiggle that tooth out for her. They numbed her gum with some gel, injected lidocaine & Tah-dah...the tooth was out. Aubrey did fantastic...no flinching, no gripping the arm chairs, no jumping & no tears until she saw the tooth in the dentists hands. I immediately thought that she was in pain & scared from the event (because from my angle that process looked very painful!!!) but she quickly said "It looks like a monster tooth". So, that was the cause of her tears which dried up rather quickly when it was explained to her that it actually was her tooth.
She put her tooth under her pillow with pride that night & woke up a very excited girl when she found the treasure that the tooth fairy had left her underneath her pillow.
