Have you read the Fancy Nancy books? If not Aubrey highly recommends them. In fact they are her favorite books right now and Fancy Nancy is her favorite character so we planned a Fancy Nancy themed birthday party. On Monday evening our family joined us to help her celebrate her fifth birthday! This was the first time I have attempted to make a birthday cake and it ended up turning out rather cute after spending about 3 hours decorating it. But, it was worth it. We enjoyed a light dinner consisting of sandwiches with frilly toothpicks because Fancy Nancy says sandwiches taste better with frilly toothpicks.
It was then time to get everyone fancy. I had obtained an idea for homemade tutus from a friend and they ended up being the perfect attire for a Fancy Nancy party. The girls dressed up in their tutus while the boys put on their top hats and bow ties. Everyone looked adorable!

The evening was very fun and Aubrey enjoyed having everyone here to help her celebrate. We missed Grammie, Poppa, Uncle Lance & Uncle Chad but know that they were thinking of her while she celebrate her fancy fifth birthday!
