The new arena in Wichita is open & it has been busy with activity. Michelle was the lucky "Golden Ticket" winner which means she get two tickets to every event for the first year. Wow, what a prize! When she asked me to go to the George Strait & Reba McEntire concert with her I was so excited. They are both fantastic entertainers & I have enjoyed their music for many years.
So, Friday night Michelle & I enjoyed a delicious dinner at On The Border before heading down to the arena for a fantastic concert. Lee Ann Womack was the opening act which set the night off on the good note.
Following a short intermission for some stage changes, Reba made her appearance & the crowd roared.
Reba entertained for over an hour without singing her signature song "Fancy". She left the stage & I know that I was not the only fan that was amazed she had not sung my favorite song...but she surprised the crowd by coming out in a yellow taxi & she was wearing her red dress.
It was then time for "The King Of Country", George Strait. It was fun to listen to him sing some oldies but goodies as well as some newer songs.
We had such a good time. The company was fun, the music was amazing & entertainment was the best!
When I started thinking about what I was going to wear to this concert, I thought it would be fun to wear some country boots...the only bad thing is I didn't have any. That meant, I needed to buy some. So, off I went on the hunt for a cheap but cute pair of boots...that deal doesn't exist. While in New Mexico, I looked at the Boot Barn without any luck...that was when my Mom said "Would you like to look at the boots I have from many years ago?" I agreed & that is when I found the cutest boots for one of the best concerts...thanks Mom!!!
