It's Spring Break and we have had a fabulous week. Breaks are great for lazy schedules, fun times and special treats. We didn't head to the beach, snow covered mountains, or closest amusement park this spring break...we spent it right in our own home with a special guest! Emily, our niece/cousin, came to spend 3 days with us since she was also out of school.
Even though we followed a pretty relaxed schedule we filled our time with some pretty fun events as well. The weather was beautiful and the air spelled like Spring so we were outside ALOT!
Our first day together was spent playing and making a life sized picture of ourselves. I had the girls lay down on butcher paper as I traced their body. They then "decorated" themselves. Alot of detail went into these pictures...very cute!

Since it was warming up nicely by mid-morning we packed a lunch and headed for the nearest park. We had the place to ourselves for most of the morning but a lot of other kids thought it sounded like a good place to picnic as well. So, we enjoyed a crowded lunch.

After lunch we headed home for some quiet play and down time before heading outdoors to enjoy more of the beautiful weather outside. One of Abigail's birthday presents...the Crayola Sidewalk Paint Foamer...was a hit! Everyone wanted a chance to paint and design their own creation on the sidewalk. They then thought it was even more fun to go around and stomp the foam. This led to multi-colored shoes that were thrown in the washing machine!

When Daddy walked in after his day of work, he was literally attacked. They were ready to wrestle 3 on 1. I am pretty sure he lost the fight but he loved every minute of it.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

The girl's woke up ready to face a new day and I greeted them with GREEN cinnamon rolls in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Their expressions were priceless! I promised them that they would be very tasty and once they tried them they agreed. We all dressed in our green for the day and headed down to Kaleidoscope...a free attraction sponsored by Hallmark. Emily loves to do various craft projects so this was right up her alley.

The girls enjoyed making wands, crowns, painting fish, making their own puzzle and coloring/painting with glow in the dark products. We picked a fabulous day to go because everyone else was outside watching the St. Patrick's Day parade.

We met Daddy at Crayola Cafe for lunch before heading home for quiet time and more outside play! The week was so enjoyable and the time went very fast. I know that all three girls had a good time because they were all quite tired after their time together.

Thanks again. I really enjoyed reading your blog entry even thought I knew most of it! I know Emily will love looking at it tomorrow. I like your new background. It's really cute.
What fun! I think the idea of tracing the girls' bodies is great! I might have to try that out.
