Happy Birthday Grandma!

Let me tell you about an amazing woman I know--her name is Dorothy and I call her Grandma. Yesterday she celebrated her 94th birthday. Yes, 94! Doesn't she look great?! She is a beautiful woman both inside and out. Grandma Dorothy has a love for people. She is very involved with her family, community, and church. Geanology is her passion and she spends a great deal of time researching her ancestors through the computer, writing up stories about them and publishing them for the rest of the family to enjoy. In addition, she enjoys traveling around to different areas of the country where these people lived to learn more about them. She loves to visit family and support them in their activities as well as open her home to all of us whenever we have a chance to stop in.

Grandma, was a teacher during her working years and touched many lives through her knowledge. She taught English and that is very apparent as her basement is full of books. Once a teacher, always a teacher. She keeps her mind young by constantly reading and studying various things.

Another one of her love's is horses. She has owned and cared for horses almost all of her life. A daily horse back ride was not out of the question in her younger years and she takes advantage of any oppotunity that presents itself to ride now. She spends lots of time working in her yard during the spring and summer months. She continues to mow her own lawn most of the time and beautiful flowers surround her home.
Grandma, thank you for the influence you have had on my life. You are so caring, supportive, and genuine--Outstanding traits! I hope that I can follow in your footsteps and age as gracefully as you have. Happy Birthday!
