Dangerous Coffee

Brian and I have become trapped in the morning coffee rut which has brought about some interesting conversations between us and Aubrey. They are so cute, we just had to share!

A: Mommy, are you going to drink coffee like Grandma and Papa?
Me: Yes.
A: Can I have some?
Me: No, it stunts your growth.
A (looking very confused): What?
Me: When you are still little and need to grow more coffee keeps you from growing more.
A: Oh!

A few days later as I pour my morning coffee...
A: Mommy, have you stopped growing?
Me: Yes, at least up.
A: Well, I haven't so I can't drink any of that.
Me: Yeah. You need to grow some more.
A: I'm going to grow up to be a big Daddy.
Me: No, you will be a Mommy.
A: Yeah, a mommy like you. Oh, no I'm not going to be like you. I am going to be a little bit taller.

About 1 week later she had a similar conversation with Brian while they were fishing...
A: Daddy, are you drinking coffee in that cup?
B: Yes, would you like a drink?
A: Is it hot?
B: No, it's just warm. Would you like some?
A: Is that the same stuff that makes you stop growing?
B: Yes.
A: No, I don't want any of that.
