To Great Grandmothers House We Go...

On Christmas Eve we headed from Wichita to Nebraska to spend Christmas at my grandmother Dorothy's house.  There was a huge snowstorm all around us but we managed to stay in a pocket of clear weather almost the entire way.  God was looking after us as we traveled 10 hours that day with 4 adults & 3 children (2 of which were toddlers) in one van.  We arrived to Sidney & were greeted by Grandmother Dorothy as well as my parents.  The kids were excited & spent the next couple of hours running around the house like monkeys.  We finally got them calmed down enough to put their PJ's on & make a plate of cookies for Santa.

It was then easy to get their tired heads in bed because they knew that Santa would not come if they were still awake.  We were all rather exhausted!

On Christmas morning we had 3 very excited little kids because guess what...Santa came!!!  I think that Aubrey was more fascinated with Santa this year than I have noticed in past years.  She was so glad that he found her all the way in Nebraska & he left her as well as her little sister, Abby, exactly what they had asked for...a water baby for Aubrey & a computer for Abby.  Phew!!!
We had a very enjoyable morning of opening presents, breakfast, special memories together & remembering Christ's birth.

The girls made all of their grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins cinnamon ornamets.  Here Aubrey & Abby pose with Grammie Ann & Poppa Art and their ornament.

Last May Mom brought me some dresses that she used to wear when she was a child for the girls to have.  I decided to have their pictures taken in them & give the pictures to her for Christmas.  The pictures turned out perfect!

Abby really wanted the Hungry Hippo game for Christmas & she was absolutely thrilled when she opened up her gift from Aunt Livia, Uncle Lance & Stanton.
