Aubrey has been talking about a bed for her "American Girl" ever since Santa placed it under our tree. It was decided that she would buy one with the money she received from Christmas and her birthday. One morning we headed to Target to buy the fancy bed and the fancy price stuck out like a sore thumb! Even though she had enough money saved up I just couldn't let her spend it on that. I convinced her to let us "shop around" online and in other stores before buying that particular one. Well, the ones online were a bit cheaper but by the time shipping was paid it was about the same as the store bought one.One evening Daddy had a fabulous idea..."why don't I make her one". Aubrey picked out a picture of what she wanted and the building process began.
Brian spent a few evenings in the freezing garage with our space heater directing a little bit of heat his way as he designed the perfect bed for Aubrey and her dolls Sandie & Fancy Nancy. Aubrey absolutely loves her bed and her babies have been sleeping very soundly. Now, Mommy needs to get busy and make some bedding to match!
